Romani Imperii

[TBD]

"Romani Imperii Imago" by Abraham Ortelius. Dated 1595.

Map of the Roman Empire around AD 115 with embellished portraits of Tibullus with genealogical tree of Roman Kings.

Dating and accuracy of this map may be slightly off, with certain Roman territories such as Dacia not marked as annexed, and Caledonia and Hibernia entirely marked as such when Caledonia was only briefly under Roman control and no evidence of a Roman invasion into Hibernia was ever found, much less it being a fully conquered territory.
Nevertheless, this map appears to show the Roman Empire at its height with its borders on the Black Sea, encroachment upon Assyria either just before or after Trajan's campaigns when he had conquered Dacia and extending well into the Arabian peninsula.
